Victor Makanjuola appointed as DCMAC…

Dr. Victor Makanjuola has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman (MAC), Clinical Services. His appointment which took effect from the 1st of August, 2019 is for a renewable period of two years in the first instance. He takes over from Dr Dolapo Afuwape who served for only a term of two years.
Dr. Makanjuola, a Consultant Psychiatrist with the Hospital, is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.
After his secondary school education in 1989 at the prestigious and famous Loyola College Ibadan where he came tops with eight Distinctions in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Examination, Dr. Makanjuola was admitted to study Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. While in the University, he was a member of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Government (1996/97 session). He was also the Charge de affair of the Embassie Club University of Ibadan (93/94 session). In April 2003, Dr. Makanjuola emerged as the Best Candidate in the West Africa College of Physician (WACP), Faculty of Psychiatry Fellowship Examination.
Dr. Makanjuola is vastly engaged in the management of difficult-to-treat patients with complex social and clinical problems in General Psychiatry practice, with additional interest and experience in managing patients with alcohol and drugs addiction as well as working on innovative ways of extending service to hard-to-reach or neglected populations.
His area of interest has earned him the role of a Certified Trainer on Management of Addiction for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
He was the immediate past president of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), UCH branch and currently the First Vice President (VP-1) of the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) having served previously as the Secretary-General of the Association (2015). He is also a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM)
He is actively involved in research with over 30 articles in reputable learned journals and he has won several Fellowships to attend international conferences in his field.
As the Deputy Chairman (MAC) Clinical Services, Dr. Makanjuola is keen on deploying good leadership and management skills in repositioning the Hospital’s health care system for excellent service delivery.
