UCH Inaugurates Anti Corruption and Transparency Unit.

The Anti Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan has today been inagurated.
ACTU which is a creation of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is to serve as a watchdog against any sharp practices in the Hospital.
While speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo noted that corruption has become endemic in our system. “Some people believe our system runs on corruption but I do not accept that position,” he said.
He promised that the UCH management will support the war against corruption and the ACTU with all the necessary tools to enable it fight the menace of corruption.
The Oyo State Commissioner for ICPC, Mr. Stephen Pimor who was represented by an official of the commission, Mr. Kunlere Andrew charged members of UCH ACTU to live up to the trust put in them by the management
of the Hospital, and that they should discharge their duties without fear or favour.
While administering the oath, the coordinator of ACTU in Oyo State, Mr. Bamdele Raji berated the prevalence of unwholesome practices among public officials in the country stating that the rot in the public service is not unconnected to the decaying moral fabric of the society calling on the newly sworn in members to buck on their mandate distinctively.
Chairman of the UCH ACTU, Dr. Taiwo Soyinka also vowed to display a high level of accountability in curbing corrupt practices.
