Professor Adesina was born on 17th January, 1970. She obtained her MBBS degree and Masters degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Ibadan in 1991 and 2001 respectively. She undertook her Residency Training Programme in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University College Hospital, Ibadan and obtained the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in 2002. She was appointed as Honorary Consultant, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with effect from 18th August, 2005. Professor Adesina served as the Deputy Chairman, MAC (Theatres & ICU) effective from 18th July, 2011 to 26th September, 2014.
She is a member of many learned Societies which include the Nigeria Medical Association, the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria, Association of Feto- Maternal Society of Nigeria, Society for Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Academic Staff Union of Universities, American Association for the Advancement of Science and Fellow, West African College of Surgeons.
Professor Adesina has held leadership roles in various professional bodies such as Chairman, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, 2014 -2016, Vice Chairman, Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON), 2016 – 2024, Financial Secretary, Association of Feto- Maternal Society of Nigeria, (AFEMSON), 2016 till date, President, Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), UCH, 1998 – 1999, to name a few.
She has undertaken several research projects and has attended many local and international Conferences and Seminars with over 75 publications to her credit.
Professor Adesina is happily married and the marriage is blessed with wonderful children.
