Born on 23rd August, 1967, Dr. Ibiyemi attended the University of Ibadan from November, 1990 to October, 1997 and subsequently obtained the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree. He acquired the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Ibadan in April, 2011 and subsequently proceeded to the Newcastle University, United Kingdom from November, 2011 to June, 2016 where he received the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He possessed the Diploma in Community Oral Health – UMC St Radbourd, Nijmengen, The Netherlands (June 2006) and the Fellowship of the Medical College of Dental Surgery (Community Dentistry) of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in November, 2007. He was a winner of scholarships/Fellowships for undergraduate & postgraduate work, such as the Scholarship from Dental Health International of Netherlands in April, 2006 and Commonwealth PhD Scholarship at the Newcastle University, United Kingdom from November, 2011 to September, 2015. He was appointed as Honorary Consultant to the Hospital with effect from 18th March, 2009.
Dr. Ibiyemi is a member of many learned Societies in which he has held many leadership positions. These include International Association for Dental Research, Nigerian Dental Association, Nigerian Medical Association, Nigerian Association of Dental Public Health, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Ibarapa Community Oral Health Programme and the Editorial Board of Annals of Ibadan Postgraduate Medicine. He has served on several committees of the Hospital and was also the Ag. Head of the Department of Periodontology and Community Dentistry from 2019 to 2021. He is a Principal investigator and Co-Investigator of several funded Research Projects. He is an Examiner for the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Dr. Ibiyemi has over 60 publications in books and learned Journals to his credit. He is an International scholar with attendance in several local and international conferences.
He is happily married to Dr. (Mrs.) Titilola Ibiyemi and the union is blessed with wonderful children.
