Members of the Hospital’s Nurses End Well Scheme (NEWS) led by the secretary of the association, Mrs. Tola Ogungbhoun on Tuesday 18th August, 2020, donated five Leg-controlled Veronica Buckets to Hospital.

Ogungbhoun who spoke on behalf of the delegation said it was necessary to support the management in their own way to help curb the spread of the deadly virus in the Hospital.

She also stated that the equipment would help ensure the practice of good hand hygiene wherever it is used and encouraged everyone to be wary of the COVID-19 virus as the government eases lockdown gradually.

According to her, “people are beginning to think that COVID-19 is winding up and this amounts to throwing caution to the wind” she said. “The onus lies on us all to take responsibility as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says” she added.

The Hospital’s Chief Medical Director in his response while receiving the items said: “This gesture is immeasurable because we can not quantify the number of lives it would help save.”

He lauded the kind gesture and further stated that the fight to curtail the COVID-19 virus is not yet over.

He assured that management will ensure that the buckets are placed in strategic places so that they can be utilized appropriately while calling on other public-spirited individuals and associations to throw their weight behind the Hospital.
