2021 NUAHP Health Week is a reminder that COVID-19 is still with us- Otegbayo

2021 NUAHP Health Week is a reminder that COVID-19 is still with us- Otegbayo
October 7, 2021uchInformationprdepartmentUncategorized
  • The Chief Medical Director of UCH, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo has warned that Covid-19 has not been surmounted. He gave the warning while declaring open the 2021 NUAHP Health Week with the theme ”Covid-19 vaccination, the facts, and the myths”

Otegbayo who spoke through the Hospital’s Deputy Chairman (MAC), Education and Training, Dr. Toyin Lawal on Wednesday advised that Covid-19 vaccination reduces the risk of infection.

He said “According to WHO, vaccination is a simple, safe and effective way to protect against harmful diseases before coming into contact with them.

It activates the body’s natural defenses to learn to resist specific infections and strengthen the immune system.

In this sense, vaccination against COVID-19 will reduce the risk of becoming seriously ill and dying, since the person will be better protected.”

Present at the event were the member representing allied health professionals in the UCH board of management, Prof. Grace Fadupin, the Director of Administration, Mr. Stephen Olubusayo Oladejo, the DCMAC Clinical Services, Dr. Taiwo Soyinka; the executive members of NUAHP among other dignitaries.
