Otegbayo Commissions Refurbished Public Relations Office

Otegbayo Commissions Refurbished Public Relations Office
October 2, 2019uchInformationprdepartmentUncategorized

The Hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo has commissioned the refurbished office of the Information (Public Relations) Department. The state-of-the-art office space located on the third floor, will accommodate about twenty members of staff as well as the Head of Department.

The commissioning which came on the heels of the promise by Prof. Otegbayo to improve staff welfare and make the Hospital’s work environment at par with what obtains globally, was commended by the department’s current Head, Mr. Toye Akinrinlola who noted that the department has now been equipped and enhanced to deliver sufficiently on the hospital’s mandate.

In his remarks, Prof. Otegbayo urged all staff of the department to put the office to the best of use by instilling a positive maintenance culture. He promised to make the working environment conducive to all the departments in the hospital and promote patients’ comfort.

What is now known as the Information Department started as Public Relations Office in 1977 when the need to enhance the perception of the Hospital in the eye of the public became an essence and an absolute imperative. In July 2009, the hitherto Public Relations Department commenced full operations as the Information Department of the Hospital

Since 2009 that the Information Department came into being, projecting the image of the Hospital has been top of its mandate. Among many of its competing functions, the management of communication between the Hospital and its publics has tremendously foreshortened and averted a crisis in the Hospital
