Appointed on July 18 2011, as DCMAC (Lab). Dr Adedapo obtained MBBS from the University of Ibadan in Nov.1989. Following completion of his NYSC, he started his residency in Chemical Pathology in 1992 at the University College Hospital Ibadan. He Obtained FWACP (Lab. Med.) and MSc. Chemical Pathology in 1999. He also obtained a MSc. in Clinical Nuclear Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg South Africa in 2008.
He had a stint with Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile Ife from 1998 to Dec 1999 as a Lecturer II in Clinical Biochemistry. He joined the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences University of Ibadan in January 2000 and He became a Senior Lecturer in the same Department in the year 2007.
Dr Adedapo is a Chemical Pathologist with interest in Endocrinology and metabolism. His interests cover the areas Thyroid, breast and prostate cancer and the contribution of diet to ameliorate or prevent their occurrence. He has also pioneered the use of radioactive iodine treatment in thyroid related diseases since 2006. He has authored and co authored several research articles in the areas relating to his field in several learned journals
His passion for the laboratory dates back to 2003 when he has oversight function on the laboratory arm of the IAEA/FGN tumour markers project till 2008. He has attended several international and local conferences on the issue of Quality assurance and accreditation of laboratory. He is a member of African Federation of Clinical Chemists.
He envisions that under his supervision the laboratories in UCH will witness significant changes in the area of improved laboratory infrastructures (equipment) quality assurance and improved turnaround time in sample collection, transportation and processing.
