The Chief Medical Director, (CMD), of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo on Tuesday led the management of the Hospital to the official handing over of the proposed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) medical centre in Iseyin, Oyo state.

The proposed project which was awarded by Federal Ministry of Health through the University College Hospital is one of the four medical centres to be built in NYSC orientation camps across the country.

At the formal handing over yesterday, the CMD charged both the project consultants and the contractor to execute the job according to specifications. The management of the Hospital, he added, will frown at any shoddy job done on the site.

He also stated that UCH is always ready to render excellent medical services to Nigerians.
“This medical centre in Iseyin, when completed, will serve the corps members, NYSC staff and the immediate community.” He said.

Otegbayo pointed out that though funds available are meagre, they will be utilized judiciously to ensure that the first phase of the project is completed in twelve weeks.

The Oyo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Ogbugebe who also witnessed the handing over, thanked the Federal Ministry of Health, the CMD and the management of UCH for making effort to build the medical centre.
She promised to monitor and ensure that the project is carried out according to specified standards.
