The Ahmadiya Muslim Youth Group Organization of Oyo State today extended its hand of charity to the hospital with the donation of some state of the art equipment for patient use. The equipment include one Suction Machine (double jar), one Suction Machine (single jar), one Neutralizer, one Centrifuge Machine, and two Sphygmomanometer.

Receiving the items, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo praised the philanthropic gesture noting that Government alone can not fund healthcare. In his words, “the equipment will bridge government funding gaps”. He applauded the associations agelong blood donation exercise saying it immeasurably saves lives and affects humanity positively. Professor of Animal breeding and health and convener of the group, Prof. Abdulrahman Abdulahi also recalled the association’s long standing blood donation exercise to the hospital. According to the don, “considering the importance of UCH as a tertiary healthcare provider, our youth members have embraced the yearly blood donation drive to the hospital and have adopted it as a tradition,” he said. Prof. Abdulahi therefore enjoined the leadership of the blood bank to grant the donors quicker attention whenever they come to donate blood.
